WP3
Performance and socio-environmental impacts of forest management
This work package focuses on developing a socio-environmental impact evaluation and is designed to produce outcomes aligned with Goal 3. The project is built on the principle of co-developing solutions among scientific partners and end-users. Stakeholders will be involved from the beginning and throughout all project phases—from sustainability perception to the discussion of modeling results.
A workshop will be organized to identify stakeholders’ information requirements and their preferred formats for receiving results. The deliverables D3.1 and D3.2 aim to develop new indicators (based on WP1 and WP2 deliverables) and provide insights for improving the sustainability of water supply services. These insights will consider water accounts and footprints of the selected subcatchment in relation to the time elapsed after wildfires.
Deliverables
- D3.1: Initial workshop to determine stakeholders’ information requirements
- D3.2: Indicators to measure the performance of the forest management tools developed
- D3.3: Assessment of water supply sustainability through catchment water accounts and footprints
Infrastructure
The infrastructure required for the initial workshop (D3.1, at month 1/2) includes:
- Meeting space
- Presentation equipment
- Writing materials
- Communication tools for inviting stakeholders and attracting potential partners
This work package will primarily be developed during the second year of the project (from month 12 onward), as outlined in Table 2.
For D3.2, regular meetings among project partners are essential for sharing and discussing results, as well as delivering performance indicators for the forest management tools.
For D3.3, public data from relevant institutions and governance bodies (e.g., Section 6.4) will be accessed to cross-check and validate results.
